Only Tresiba® allows adults to vary their daily dosing interval by 8 to 40 hours, providing around-the-clock control while still maintaining blood sugar control. Taking your insulin at the same time every day is recommended, but if you miss or delay your Tresiba® dose, simply take it as soon as you can, then return to your normal dosing schedule. aOpened (in-use) Tresiba® FlexTouch® should be refrigerated (36°F to 46°F [2°C to 8°C]) or kept at room temperature (up to 86°F [30°C]), away from direct heat and light.
In a large safety study vs Lantus® in adults with type 2 diabetes and heart disease, Tresiba® did not increase their risk of major cardiovascular events, such as heart attack, stroke, or death.
Compared to Lantus®, Tresiba® also had a lower rate of severe low blood sugar, a possible serious side effect of insulin.
